Jacob's Hill shelters the tiny collection of holiday and permanent homes named New Haven alongside the Catlins Estuary. From there one can park and walk out to the estuary mouth and along Surat Bay. The landform known as False Island rising from the sea at the northern end. Coming back a view of Pounawea is front and center with the blue hills of the Catlins creating a fabulous backdrop.
