Just out of Omarama on the road to the Lindis Pass and Central Otago. The darkened hills under the gathering clouds against the bright golden dry grass paddock immediately attracted my attention. Unfortunately travelling without my art stuff so had to just be happy with a photo. In recreating the scene I added a gate and track heading off towards a shed in the distance.
I am always drawn to wide open spaces and the McKenzie basin fits the bill perfectly.
